![]() In Update 1.47, War Thunder introduced Trophies, boxes containing random rewards, similar to lockboxes or crates in many other F2P games. It’s worth keeping an eye out for sales in the War Thunder store or on Steam to get the most for your money. If you feel the game is worth it, though, and want to progress a bit faster, by all means buy some Eagles. Like many games of the genre, as you move up the ranks the cost of new aircraft, repairs and the like gets steeper so progress gets a lot slower, but if you’re not too hung up on advancing and enjoying the battles I wouldn’t worry too much about it. You certainly don’t need to buy any Gold Eagles if you don’t want to player skill and teamwork will get you a lot further than just spending money. Gold Eagles have many uses, as outlined later in this post. Silver Lions are used to purchase regular aircraft and modifications, to repair and resupply aircraft after battles, and to buy up to two extra crew slots. The two currencies are Silver Lions, mostly earned from playing missions and battles, and Gold Eagles, mostly bought with real money. SB is similar to even worse.īest AB player made 47.3M in 6d15h, his stats would say he bombs a lot in US t4 bombers.īombers should of course be elite with good crew skill (though if you do bomb a lot both will be achieved quickly enough)Īs to the Russian premium PBY, it's actually my top earner, I made over 4M just with this t1 plane, just make sure to keep it at BR 2.0, or even drag it down to 1.7.As in many free-to-play games the economy of War Thunder can be slightly confusing, with several types of currencies, rewards, items and so forth. Leaderboard backs this : I'm in last month's top 20 with 33.4M earned in 5d11h, the best RB player made 26.8M in 5d8h (second best made 26.8M in 9d7h.) I also made quite more RP. ![]() the odds that you do good are quite higher in AB. The difference being, in RB it takes you like 5 minutes to get over the targets, drop your 4 or 8 or whatever bombs, then take even more time to get to the airfield, land, rearm, get back, probably game is already over by then, whereas in AB you take maybe a minute to get over targets, drop your bombs, 32 seconds later (which is maxed reloading skill with expert crew) you got another load ready to drop, if you get shot down you'll just bring another bomber. Good income in RB is a myth, very few ppl make a good income from RB. If I put myself to mainly bombing I'd estimate to average 40k/ battle, a very good one (Paradise Island for example) can wield over 100k, that is premium account before bonus.Īs to what mode, I'd take AB over RB any day. Or if you manage to stay unharmed up high if you manage to destroy the airfield income will be quite nice. I'd recommend to start high going for static targets (pillboxes, bases), once these arre done, going low for tanks. What targets should I bomb? How much will I earn from it? And why not realistic battles? Premium bombers may also help get a good income, even at lower tiers. The Yer lineup may have an advantage because you can keep your setup at BR 4.7. Good setups would include 4 Yer-2, 4 Do 217, 3 B-17 and B-24. You'll want a couple fighters in your setup for domination maps. Originally posted by Tomwyr:Bombing in AB, t3 or 4, should wield decent income. Just like he said, buying the cheap PBY gives alot back, if you don't want to drop any cash, playing as the USAAF/USAF is really good too, they have a very low repair bill and low BR, so they are very good nation for getting lions, it's also another reason why I got the Sabre without having to grind out alot of lions. ![]() Originally posted by xSOSxHawkens:to earn lions do the following. Hope it give ya an idea of what pays and how, and what types of plane can be used to do it well even on a non-premium or partialy paid acct. In the event you lack those, the american PBY's work well too, as do t4 bomber such as the G8 or B17/24.ĮDIT: Here are some examples in mixed varriation of tier, and premium acct/plane :)ħ3k, prem-acct, non-prem plane, small battle-trophyģ5k, prem-acct, non-prem plane, no battle trophyĦ5k, non-prem acct, prem plane, no battle trophyģ8k, non-prem acct, single prem plane with many non, no battle trophy (Teir-1!!) 2) bomb bases in the russian PBY or british PBY
